Vicryl Absorbable Suture Reel, Tie, Violet, Size 2/0, 54" (135 cm) is a synthetic, braided, absorbable suture designed for secure tissue approximation and ligation. Made from polyglactin 910, this suture offers excellent handling characteristics, including ease of knot tying and reliable knot security on the first throw. 

The suture maintains approximately 50% of its tensile strength at three weeks post-implantation, providing adequate wound support during the early stages of healing. Complete mass absorption occurs within 56 to 76 days, making it suitable for tissues with moderate healing times. The braided structure contributes to good pliability and knot security, though it may induce slightly higher tissue reactivity compared to monofilament sutures.

Vicryl is commonly used in general tissue and muscle approximation, ligation of blood vessels, and soft tissue repair. It is also frequently applied in reproductive tract surgeries, ophthalmic procedures, and as a second choice in orthopedic surgeries.
